John is an outstanding person and I am proud to call him friend, He loved his work and took it very seriously and is an upstanding citizen, I am sorry to hear and read all these responses condemning an innocent person. What ever happen to America that we are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, El Paso Times should be ashamed for the article written in the Times, it is very biased and damning, the man needs his day in court and he is innocent until proven guilty by his peers in a court of law. I am not in the law enforcement business and I did not come by this web site by accident. I have had the pleasure of knowing John Shipley for about a year now. I have no personal ties or business with him. He is an individual met the gun shop. I have found him to be one of the finest individuals I have ever met. I once commented how I felt about the ATF and the FBI and it was not every flattering. Do I need to remind you all of how sure the FBI and the ATF were in accusing the security guard and the Atlantic Olympic Games or how sure they were of the guilt of the doctor at the CDC or how they handle the Ruby Ridge situation by shooting an unarmed woman holding her infant child. A big smile came over his face and he proceeded to enlighten me of all the positive situations the FBI had achieved. This is one man who is truly proud of his profession and the department he was associated with. So, after stating all the failures that the FBI/ATF have had over the years and witnessing these agencies doing their best to convict through the mass media of public opinion and not through the courts of law has concerned me over the years. But to read the comments of fellow officers who have already condemned and sentenced John with comments like: The ATF and FBI are extremely thorough or certain that they have all the facts is scary. Nothing is certain in life but death. So please before one continues to spread the rhetoric on these pages about his guilt please remember today in America one is innocent until proven guilty. Don't know all the facts on this case but know the system rather well. James' statement/podcast hits the nail on the head donation sent.
If you needed money fast and needed to sell a large portion or all of your collection what would you do if you were familiar with the online auction sites which would bring you the most money for your firearms? This could be any one of us.
I would like to learn more about the case in which Agent Shipley testified "against his own," yet as we all should he did the right thing. The whole thing sounds a lot like don't bite the hand that feeds you or else especially with the current administration at the helm of the ship.

Thanks for getting this info out. I'm standing with John Shipley.
